Mother and Daughter

Words can't describe the relationship that exists between a mother and her daughter. We try, using words like natural, instinctive, spiritual and magical, but for me a picture tells a thousand words. If I were to describe Jody and Layla's relationship I think I would use just one word - FUN! They were so great to work with, such a natural vibe and carefree energy that really shines on camera. Thanks Jody and Layla - I look forward to a teen shoot with you both in a few years time... I wonder what words I'll be using to describe the mother/ daughter dynamic then?

High School Formal

Now, most of you would be aware that shooting weddings is my very favourite thing to do (except for pregnant bellies and newborns but that just goes without saying..) And what is the next best thing to a wedding? A high school formal of course! There's the hair, the make-up, the shoes, the dress, the flowers, the bling and the entourage too! So, when I was asked to shoot this fantastic formal session for one of my favourite families I jumped at the opportunity and had a blast!
Honestly, these kids are awesome - and seriously good looking, so it wasn't difficult to stare at them through a lens for an hour non-stop! In fact, it took me waaaaaaay back to my own year 10 formal night - but that's another story!
Anyway, here are a few of my favourite shots from that session. I thank the parents of these great kids for allowing me to post their images here on the blog. Enjoy!

Sandy, Graham, Daniel and Sammy the wonder dog!

Sandy and Graham are such warm, down to earth and genuine people. They made me feel so welcome in their home, and little baby Daniel was such a treasure! After a little cat-nap he was ready to be the star attraction and boy did he deliver! I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know this beautiful little family, including Sammy the wonder dog who could not be left out!

Tanya, Dane and Isaac

Wow, this little family rocked! From the moment I met Tanya I felt like I had known her forever - perhaps that's because I am better aquainted with her sister Lisa (baby Bailey's mummy from a previous shoot) and they are so alike that it's scary! Her partner Dane is one cool dude, just check out the tattoos!
I had an awesome time with these guys as we captured this snapshot of their new family - before Isaac is old enough to hold the camera himself! Cause that's the thing, time just goes so fast and before we know it our little people are all grown up. Which is why I feel so blessed to be invited again and again to capture these precious moments in time for the most amazing families on the planet. I love my job!

Craig and Amy Renew their Vows

After 10 years of marriage with all its ups and downs Craig and Amy decided to renew their wedding vows barefoot under a tree at beautiful Nora Head.
It was an emotional and personal ceremony lead by Diane Cunningham of Circle of Life Ceremonies. I now think everyone should be married this way, just a bride, her man and mother nature. Simply perfect!
